Niagara Regional Police are searching for a suspect after responding to a reported stabbing in Niagara Falls around 4:30 Saturday morning.
Upon arrival in the area of Eastwood Crescent and Ontario Avenue, officers located the victim, an adult female, suffering from multiple stab wounds. Niagara EMS paramedics attended the scene and transported the victim to an out-of-town trauma centre for advanced medical care. The victim remains in hospital and is listed in serious but stable condition.
Police say the victim and the suspect are not known to each other and the suspect took off in his vehicle, a maroon or burgundy pickup truck.
Businesses or residents with CCTV footage that captures Falls Avenue near Clifton Hill or motorists who may have been in either area with an operational dash-camera are encouraged to review their footage and contact police if they have any information.
