ICU's are quickly becoming overwhelmed
The President of Niagara Health tweeting out some frightening new statistics which show how dire the situation is getting in Niagara as the third wave of the pandemic continues.
Lynn Guerriero says "@niagarahealth is in a state of crisis. We’ve opened additional critical care beds in other areas of the hospital but we have limited critical care-trained staff to further increase capacity."
As of yesterday at the St. Catharines hospital, which is the region's dedicated COVID-19 site, they were at 104% capacity in the ICU, 164% of Level 3 ICU capacity, which is the highest level of ICU care and 125% of ICU vented bed capacity.
She is asking all of us to "Stay home. Save Lives."
