McCall MacBain Foundation pledges $5 million in support of the new South Niagara site of Niagara Health
A large donation has been made towards the building of a new Niagara Health hospital.
The Niagara Health Foundation says the McCall MacBain Foundation has pledged $5 million to the Its Our Future Campaign.
Funds raised through the campaign will be put towards the building of the South Niagara site, which will be located in Niagara Falls.
In recognition of the donation, the auditorium in the Interprofessional and Learning Centre will be named the MacBain Family Auditorium.
The money will also be used towards new specialized programs that will be offered at Niagara Health.
The new site will feature a variety of healthcare services, such as emergency car, diagnostic imaging, inpatient and outpatient surgery, and mental health and addiction services.
It will also have centres of excellence specializing in stroke care, aging and wellness and complex care.
"We are incredibly grateful to the McCall MacBain Foundation for their support of the It's Our Future campaign. This donation will help us build a world-class hospital that will provide the highest quality healthcare services to the people of Niagara. Their generosity is a testament to their commitment to making a positive impact in the Niagara community." - Andrea Scott, President and CEO, Niagara Health
