Increased wait times due to implementation of the new information system, installed Saturday
If you've had to go to a hospital in Niagara this week, you might have experienced longer than normal wait times.
That's due to a slowdown in the implementation of Niagara Health's Information System, that was installed over the weekend.
That system is designed to improve care by streamlining records, enhancing data accuracy and increasing coordination across departments.
Niagara Health, which did warn this could happen, says this is impacting wait times, particularily patient registration and emergency departments.
Scheduled appointments and other procedures are taking place, and there's free parking today at all sites given the longer wait times.
