Governor General releases list of Canadians appointed to Order of Canada.
Two people from Niagara have been appointed as members of the Order of Canada.
Earlier today, Governor General Mary Simon released a list of 135 Canadians appointed to the honour roll.
The new members include Pamela J. Minns of St. Catharines and Duff David Mostoway Roman of Niagara-on-the-Lake.
Minns is being recognized for her contributions as a volunteer and advocate for heritage preservation in Niagara, and Roman is being honoured for his work in broadcasting and music production.
Other honourees include former senator Murray Sinclair and author Yann Martel, who wrote the bestselling book "Life of Pi."
