Public health officials urge Niagara businesses to ensure staff and/or customers are fully immunized against COVID-19.
Niagara Region Public Health (NRPH) is once again encouraging local businesses to take steps to keep workplaces safe during the pandemic.
Last week, the agency issued a letter to employers, recommending businesses adopt vaccination policies, ensure masks are worn at all times, and encourage staff to get tested for COVID-19 when appropriate.
The NRPH is also encouraging companies to limit the spread of the virus by minimizing the number of customers and staff on the premises to maintain physical distancing, and make sure air filtration and ventilation systems are properly maintained.
So far, there have been 13 workplace outbreaks in September.
To get free rapid testing kits, businesses can head over to their local Chamber of Commerce.
