Weather office says area could see strong wind gusts and hail this afternoon, along with high humidity.
You'll want to stay indoors today.
Niagara is under both a heat warning and a severe thunderstorm watch.
Environment Canada says conditions are favourable for the development of severe thunderstorms this afternoon, with the potential for quick intensification as they progress eastward.
The weather office notes there may be wind gusts between 90 to 110 km/h, as well as nickel to ping pong ball sized hail.
The risk for severe thunderstorms should diminish late this afternoon.
A heat warning also remains in effect for the area, with daytime high temperatures around 30 degrees Celsius expected and humidex values around 40.
Areas that receive showers and thunderstorms may get slightly cooler temperatures, and conditions are expected to improve this evening.
