Niagara's Commissioner of Planning and Development Services is about to retire.
Rino Mostacci will officially step-down October 30th and his job will be temporarily filled on an acting basis until his replacement is hired.
He was first appointed to the job in 2014.
The Region developed a new innovative model of district planning under his leadership, which lead to the Brock District Plan and the Glendale District Plan.
The Region has also been working on a new Niagara Official Plan for the next 30 years.
Mostacci says it has been a very memorable six years.
"Niagara is truly a remarkable place and it has been a privilege to serve and contribute to its exciting and prosperous future. As a resident, I look forward to experiencing it first-hand."
