Niagara's Jobless Rate Expected Later Today

Economic forecasts predict another increase in the country's jobless rate

We'll find out Niagara's jobless rate later this morning.

Statistics Canada is set to release its August labour force survey this morning.

Economists are forecasting employers added 25-thousand jobs, and the unemployment rate rose to 6.5 per cent in the month.

Canada's jobless rate has been rising for the last year and a half as high interest rates slow economic activity.

The country's unemployment rate was 6.4 per cent in July, here in Niagara it sat at 8 per cent.
