Niagara's unemployment rate shot up in February, to 5.5 percent.
It was sitting at 5.2 back in January.
Statistics Canada says we're still on par with the provincial average.
Ontario's rate was also 5.5 percent in last month, and 5.2 percent the month before.
The national jobless rate was 5.6 percent in February, slightly higher than the 5.5 percent recorded in January.
We also added 30,300 net new jobs to the economy, but most of them were in Quebec.
Statistics Canada says Quebec's rate dropped to 4.5 percent, it's lowest level in 40 years.
