Public elementary schools in Niagara will be open this week.
The Elementary Teachers' Federation of Ontario is announcing its Phase 6 job action.
The escalation did not include any strikes this week, or next, meaning the elementary schools in the DSBN will run as normal.
Under the new job action, teachers won't cover for their absent colleagues.
An occasional teacher would instead have to be called in.
The new phase of job action will go into effect on Wednesday.
