Police reminding you not to drink and drive and be cautious while shopping for gifts.
There are only a few weeks left until Christmas, and the NRP is reminding you to celebrate safely.
Constable Phil Gavin says it's important to plan ahead if you're attending any parties where alcohol is served.
"There's so many resources these days, whether it be ridesharing services, public transit, planning ahead with a designated driver program, walking, anything. The point is that it is a preventable thing."
Gavin says police will be patrolling the roads during the holiday season as part of the Festive RIDE program.
Meanwhile, if you still have shopping to do, Gavin also has some tips.
He says if you're buying gifts online, you need to do your research, and be cautious of companies that approach you for sales.
"We always tell people to be cautious and never be pressured into a sale. If it sounds too good to be true, it likely is."
He also says if you're shopping in malls, you need to remember to lock your car doors.
Gavin recommends hiding your purchases in your vehicle in a way that thieves can't see them.
