Add wings to the list of pandemic related shortages
The National Chicken Council says a chicken wing shortage is continuing across the country.
The council noting that wings are in hot demand because they make a great takeout item.
With restaurants and bars closed or hours restricted, takeout has become the big thing through the pandemic.
In fact sales of wings are up across the nation by about 7 percent
And with demand outpacing supply, the price is also up.
One U.S. restaurant owner says he is paying three times more for drumsticks over last year and that has translated into higher prices for customers.
