Red, yellow and white onions part of recall
The Canadian Food Inspection Agency is advising consumers not to buy or eat whole fresh red, white, or yellow onions imported from Chihuahua and distributed by ProSource, an American distributor due to possible salmonella contamination.
The CFIA says we should not consume the recalled products or any foods containing the raw onions.
The agency adds retailers, distributors, manufacturers, and food service establishments such as hotels, restaurants, cafeterias, hospitals, and nursing homes should not serve, use, or sell the recalled products described below.
Anyone who is not sure about the identity of the onions in their possession, is asked to check with store where they were purchased.
The products have been sold in both Ontario and Quebec.
