They're setting aside up to $2-million, for Marketing and Vineyard Improvement Programming.
The cash is coming from the province and the federal government.
The money will be going towards projects, which will help the province adapt to ongoing and emerging challenges for grape growers.
Grape producers will be able to apply for funding for the following activities;
- Equipment to help improve grape growing practices
- Infrastructure to enhance vineyards irrigation
- Projects to acquire environmental monitoring equipment
- Consultation with a viticulture (vine growing) expert for new technology and innovation
- Implementation of testing for pest management, including viral diseases
- Installation of non acoustical pest management systems (bird netting, night guard retrofit, electric fencing)
Applications will be accepted starting March 5th, 2020.
