Businesses across Ontario have stepped up to help in the fight against COVID-19.
The Ford Government has received over 25,000 submissions through the Ontario Together online portal since March.
It was created to help businesses retool their operations to create much-needed equipment during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Premier Doug Ford says 15,000 submissions have led to $200 million in purchases of medical supplies and equipment.
He says it works out to 121 million masks, four million face shields, 100 million surgical gloves and 20.9 million gowns for our frontline workers.
Ford also highlighted a local effort right here in Niagara during his press conference today.
“Paul Moyer, an apple farmer in Niagara, is using his apple sanitizer machine to sanitize used N95 masks with a technology that kills 99.99 percent of germs.”
Moyer is the co-founder of Clean Works in Beamsville.
Ford also highlighted Terlin Construction in Kanata for creating plastic barriers for retail stores and True North Printed Plastics in Bracebridge for making 3D printed face shields.
