Over the weekend, sources said Dr. David Williams is retiring
Approval of a new top doctor in Ontario is on tap today at Queen's Park.
Health Minister Christine Elliott says the province is moving to replace Dr. David Williams with Dr. Kieran Moore.
Elliott says Moore will start working with Williams on June 7th to ensure a smooth transition as the province continues on its path out of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Dr. Williams was supposed to retire in February but agreed to stay on until September.
Williams has faced criticism over his handling of the pandemic from colleagues who demanded he be replaced.
