Pandemic Responsible for High Overdose Numbers

Canada Public Health releasing some numbers today indicating the pandemic has helped the number of overdoses climb to over six thousand deaths

Grim numbers coming from Canada Public Health.

The agency says the COVID-19 pandemic was responsible for an increasingly deadly overdose crisis last year.

The eye opening new numbers indicate just over six-thousand people suffered opioid-related deaths in 2020 around 17 deaths per day on average.

There were fewer than four thousand in 2019.
