The province has announced plans to ramp up the vaccination rollout.
Starting at 8:00 a.m. tomorrow, people 55 and older can book shots via the provincial portal.
The announcement is in response to an anticipated increase in vaccine supply from the federal government.
Health Minister Christine Elliott made the announcement today, also noting that during the weeks of May 3rd and 10th, half of the province's vaccine allocations will be sent to hot spot communities.
These shots will target mobile teams, mass immunization clinics, hospital, pharmacies, primary care physicians and pop-up clinics.
Elliott also says the province expects to begin allowing anyone 18 and older to book appointments by the week of May 24th.
To date, over 5 million vaccinations have been administered in Ontario.
In the meantime, Elliott is urging Ontarians to follow the advice of public health units.
