Police did it with the help of Health Canada cannabis inspectors at the Highway 3 location
Over $2-million worth of illegal cannabis has been found at a location in Wainfleet.
On February 26th, provincial police were alerted by Health Canada cannabis inspectors that cannabis was being grown at the Highway 3 building in contravention of regulations.
Police found over 4,000 plants, as well as processed cannabis.
They charged 58-year old Ruyin Chen, and 35-year old Sirikat Khumhueang, both of Mississauga, with:
- Cultivate, propagate or harvest any cannabis plant at a place that is not their dwelling-house or to offer to do so
- Possess cannabis for the purpose of distributing
The investigation is still on-going.
