Person apprehended under the Mental Health Act
A man has been apprehended after Niagara Regional Police received a report of an armed individual in Welland.
Police say around 8:30 Tuesday morning, they were called to Woodlawn Road near Highway 406.
Officers attended the area with the K9 unit.
According to police, the person left the area on foot before they arrived, but was found around 9 AM.
The person was not armed at the time, but was apprehended under the Mental Health Act and taken for further care.
Police say there is no threat to the public.
