Until May 13th, residents can complete a short online survey on housing needs in Port Colborne.
A consultant hired by The City of Port Colborne is asking residents for their thoughts on affordable housing in the area.
Tim Welch Consulting was awarded the project in February, following a staff recommendation and a request for proposal process.
The ten year strategy will provide staff and council with insights impacting supply of affordable housing in Port Colborne.
It will also make recommendations to improve affordability for groups with the greatest needs, including seniors, newcomers to Canada, and single-parent households.
"Resident input will assist us in improving access to affordable housing options for Port Colborne’s growing population. Having this input is critical to creating a more inclusive community that everyone can call home," said Gary Long, manager of strategic initiatives.
Residents that complete the survey and provide an email address to stay updated on the project will be entered to win one of three $25 grocery gift cards.
The survey, which can be accessed here, closes on May 13th.
