Doug Ford took at look through, pledging help is coming financially and with volunteers for cleanup
Premier Doug Ford visiting flood soaked areas of Niagara this morning, alongside Mayors Mat Siscoe and Sandra Easton of Lincoln.
Niagara West MPP Sam Oosterhoff joined them, saying the premier pledged support to help with cleanup.
There's also a number of financial assistance programs. "I have spoken with the Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing, as recently as last night, in regards to those programs, in that they need to be deployed. Again, they're still waiting on the assessment from those teams. We have seen them deployed elsewhere in the province this year."
He says they also discussed improving sewers, to handle future such storms.
He noted millions spent so far, including Macleod Road in Niagara Falls. "In Vineland as well, you'll see pipes literally going into the ground, new pipes, larger pipes. It's also about rehabilitating old pipes, I look at Grimsby, where they have a massive project funded by the province, it's roughly $8-million."
