Travel restrictions set to expire September 21st
Four U.S. Senators are asking the President to give them some indication when Washington plans to reopen the border to non essential Canadian travellers.
With the busy snowbird tourist season right around the corner, the senators from New Hampshire, Montana and Maine, pointing out the emotional and economic toll the ban has had on their communities.
CTV News reporting in a letter to the President the group writes that "A plan with some indication of when your administration would feel comfortable lifting border restrictions based on public health data would provide clarity to businesses and families along the northern border."
The four also admit they are struggling to figure out the rationale behind the decision that allows Canadians to fly to the U.S. but not drive.
Washington insiders say the president will extend the border restrictions beyond their expiry date on Tuesday.
