Democrats in the Senate are pushing ahead with legislation to bring in some control

This comes after Monday's massacre at a supermarket in Boulder, Colorado that claimed 10 lives, and the shootings at three Atlanta-area massage parlours last week that left eight people dead.

The 21 year old shooter in the supermarket tragedy purchased an assault weapon less than a week before the attack.

President Joe Biden wants Congress to close loopholes in the background check system and to ban assault weapons and high-capacity magazines.
