As of 8:00 a.m. tomorrow, Ontarians over the age of 18 will be able to receive their second COVID-19 booster shot.
ONTARIO - Ontarians over the age of 18 will soon be eligible for their second COVID-19 booster shot.
They will be able to get their fourth dose of COVID-19 vaccine as of 8:00 a.m. on Thursday July 14th, if they received their third dose at least five months ago.
The province says adults between the ages of 18 to 59 will have stronger protection against the virus up to six months after receiving their first booster, and it's important that they get their second booster in order to maintain that protection.
Chief Medical Officer of Health Dr. Kieran Moore says the free rapid antigen test program will also remain in effect until December 31st, 2022.
“Expanding eligibility to second booster doses and providing continued access to testing will empower Ontarians to make the best decisions for their circumstances and help keep our communities safe. Staying up to date on vaccination is the best protection against severe outcomes from COVID-19.”
