It also did in 2023, which included the Niagara Hydrogen Centre in Niagara Falls
Another $30-million provincial dollars to be spent on the Hydrogen Innovation Fund, which includes Niagara.
Back in 2023, the provincial government invested $15-million to drive the use of clean energy, and the additional money now announced will expand the program, and include electricity grid-focused initiatives.
The 2023 fund supported 15 new hydrogen projects, including Atura Power's Niagara Hydrogen Centre in Niagara Falls.
That centre will use excess water that would've spilled over Niagara Falls to create electricity that'll be used to create hydrogen.
The government says hydrogen is expected to be used in up to 20% of energy use by 2050.
