Applications are open for Ontario's new Skills Development Fund.
The fund was created to support workers and apprentices as well as reduce obstacles to hiring and training in order to prepare workers for economic recovery in Ontario.
The fund will accept applications from several employment and training organizations in the province.
It will focus on numerous areas, including improving the quality of training, increasing supports for laid-off workers and supporting the hiring needs of small businesses.
Some examples of projects the fund may include are digital career fairs, mentorship and career counseling options for apprentices and ways to make workplaces more accessible.
Applicants, including unions, employers, post-secondary institutions and community organizations have until February 28 to submit proposals here.
