Ontario has released the 2020 Sunshine List, indicating which publicly-paid employees made over $100,000 last year.
The list notes a large increase in the number of teachers hitting the six figure mark.
Due to a negotiated salary grid, elementary and secondary school teachers with over ten year's experience crossed the $100,000 threshold in September 2019.
This led to a 55 percent increase in the number of school board employees making the cut.
Ontario Power Generation employees received six of the top ten highest salaries across the province, with top spot being given to President Kenneth Hartwick.
He earned $1.2 million last year.
Other high earners include Ontario Chief Medical Officer of Health Dr. David Williams, who made $444,000, and his deputy, Dr. Barbara Yaffe, who earned $296,000.
This list indicates that 200,000 people in the province earned six figure incomes, which is 23 percent higher than in 2019.
