This comes as the price of petrol inches closer to $2.00 a litre
Ontario will not be following Alberta's lead cutting the gas tax.
Ontario Energy Minister Todd Smith telling reporters yesterday, the government will only cut the tax on gas if the feds cut the GST.
On Monday, Alberta's Premier announced he would temporarily cut the provinces gas tax by 13 percent starting April 1st until the price of a barrel of oil drops to below $80.
But despite a campaign pledge to trim the tax at the pumps by 5.7 cents a litre, it doesn't appear the Ford government is preparing to provide motorists with any immediate relief.
