Renters may be paying more starting next year.
Ontario has released the rent increase guideline for 2022, setting it at 1.2 percent, thus ending the current rent freeze.
The rent increase guideline is the highest amount landlords can raise rent by without getting approval from the Landlord and Tenant Board.
Landlords who intend to raise rent prices will need to give tenants at least 90 days notice.
