Two local post-secondary schools are about to get a big boost from the provincial government.
The province has announced about $6.1 million in capital funding to Brock University and Niagara College.
Niagara College will receive over $2.4 million, and Brock will receive over $2.9 million to fund critical repairs and upgrades, new equipment, and modernize their facilities.
Niagara West MPP Sam Oosterhoff was on hand for the announcement, and he commended the government for delivering the funds.
"By investing in postsecondary infrastructure, our government is supporting economic recovery, creating jobs and ensuring students obtain the skills they need for the in-demand jobs of today and tomorrow."
