Crosswalk vandalized with spray paint
Police are asking witnesses to come forward after the rainbow crosswalk in Niagara-on-the-Lake was vandalized.
Earlier today, patrol officers noticed the damage at the crosswalk at Anderson Lane and Niagara Stone Road.
Police say a suspect wrote profane words towards the 2SLGBTQIA+ community in black spray.
The Town has been notified, and is working to clean it up.
Detectives are asking nearby businesses and residents to check their surveillance footage for any suspicious behavior.
Police say this is being investigated as a possible hate crime.
Anyone with information is asked to call police at 905-688-4111, option 3, extension 1007730.
This is the second time this week the crosswalk has been vandalized.
