Region says green bin usage up 24 percent.
The Niagara Region is acknowledging local residents for their increased use of the Green Bin.
Since switching to every-other-week curbside collection a year ago, the Region says Green Bin tonnage is 24 percent higher.
Meanwhile, officials say recycling has increased by about 8 percent, and garbage tonnage is down by almost 16 percent.
On October 19th, 2020, Niagara Region switched to every-other-week garbage collection, with green, blue and grey bins collected every week.
