Niagara's first natural gas powered waste collection trucks will hit the road next month.
The Region has unveiled the new trucks from GFL Environmental.
They will be in charge of collection for Thorold, Pelham, Wainfleet, Grimsby, Lincoln and West Lincoln.
Miller Waste Systems will handle waste collection for the remaining municipalities.
The natural gas trucks will leave a smaller carbon footprint and waste less fuel overall.
They also have the new Box It. Bin It. Sort It slogan on the side.
They will hit the road on October 19th, the same day the Region plans to switch to every-other-week garbage collection.
