The Women's Advisory Committee is ready to go!
Regional Council has approved the terms of reference and appointed Councillors Diana Huson, Laura Ip and Barbara Butters to the Regional Councillor positions.
There's still room for one more Regional Council member to sit on the committee, but no one came forward last night.
The committee will also include 11 local citizens. Members of the public will be able to apply for the chance to represent Niagara's female population.
Whether or not men should be allowed to sit on the committee was a big topic brought up last night. Council heard two delegations, but decided to leave it open for men to apply as well.
