With over a million doses of COVID-19 vaccines in Niagara residents’ arms, Regional Chair Jim Bradley is thanking the task force for helping get shots into the arms of Niagarans.
The task force was created by Bradley in January 2021 in an effort to bring together health care and community leaders from across the region to provide advice on the development of a local immunization strategy.
As of today, nearly 85 per cent of eligible residents have received two doses of a COVID vaccine.
Bradley adds, with the help of the task force, specialized indigenous clinics and clinics for those living with developmental or intellectual disabilities were established.
As well the task force contributed to the organization of dedicated clinics for child care and education workers, farm and migrant workers and those experiencing homelessness.
