Fort Erie residents who operate short-term rentals such as AirBnBs can now renew their licenses on the Town's online application portal.
CAO Tom Kuchyt says this is one of many Town services moved online in order to better serve the community.
"The short-term rentals online application portal is one example of how the Town has continued to adapt throughout this pandemic to meet the needs of residents and businesses."
On January 1st, 2020, the Town launched a Short-term Rental program to provide regulations.
Some of the details include a requirement for rental owners to acquire an annual license, a contact person for rentals to be available at all times, and enhanced bylaw enforcement from May 1st until September 30th with extended hours.
Owners must also have a fire safety plan and comply with building code standards.
