Investigation was launched after man was swept over Niagara Falls
Ontario's police watchdog has cleared a Niagara Parks Police officer in the death of a man who went over the falls.
The Special Investigations Unit says on June 20th, a 38 year old man spoke briefly with two officers before he quickly climbed over a fence and was swept over the waterfall.
His body was recovered six days later at the Queenston docks.
SIU Director Joseph Martino says an investigation found the officer was still metres away from the man when he fell into the water and there was no opportunity to prevent the tragic incident.
