The province's Special Investigations Unit is investigating after an NRPS officer fired an Anti Riot Weapon ENfield (ARWEN) during a dispute call.
On April 15th, officers from the NRPS were called to the area of River Road and Otter Street in the Falls in response to a neighbor dispute call.
One of the individuals barricaded himself in his home when police arrived.
Police obtained an arrest warrant, and returned to the home around 10:45 a.m. the next day.
An interaction took place, and one of the officers discharged an ARWEN.
The 40 year old man was arrested.
No one was injured, but since an ARWEN was discharged, the SIU was called.
Anyone with information on the case is asked to call the lead investigator at 1-800-787-8529.
