Beaches flagged for E.coli, algae and safety issues
If you plan to go swimming today, there are a few local beaches you'll need to avoid.
Niagara Public Health says E.coli has been detected at Lakeside Beach in St. Catharines, Nickel Beach in Port Colborne, Sherkston Elco in Port Colborne and Crescent Beach in Fort Erie.
Meanwhile, algae has been at Waverly Beach in Fort Erie and Reebs Bay in Wainfleet, and Nelles Beach in Grimsby has been flagged for safety issues.
Throughout the summer, Niagara Region Public Health regularly tests the water at area beaches.
