Environment Canada warning of lake effect snow
The weather office says a band of lake effect snow over Lake Erie will continue to affect an area extending from Long Beach to Fort Erie tonight.
Local snowfall accumulations of 10 to 15 cm are possible, under the heaviest snow squalls.
Visibility will be suddenly reduced to near zero at times in heavy snow and blowing snow.
Travel is expected to be hazardous due to reduced visibility in some locations. If visibility is reduced while driving, turn on your lights and maintain a safe following distance.
Motorists can also expect snow covered and icy roads.
Meantime, in Buffalo, a Lake Effect Snow Warning Remains in effect for North Erie and Genesee counties, with four to eight inches expected by the early morning hours.
