Maid of the Mist kicks off season, Octantis docks in Port Colborne
The Maid of the Mist 2022 season began this weekend with its boats back in the water on the U.S. side of the Niagara River.
Hornblower’s Niagara City Cruises will begin ferrying passengers on May 6th.
Meantime, it was a busy day yesterday along Port Colborne's waterfront as residents greeted the first cruise ship of the season to pass through the Welland Canal.
The Viking Octantis docked in the city during its inaugural voyage along the Great Lakes.
It is the first in a total of 66 planned cruise ship stops in the city this season.
Port Colborne council is looking to build a waterfront centre as part of their ongoing efforts to entice passengers off the boats to explore the city.
