Residents of St. Catharines will soon be paying a little more for water and wastewater services.
The City passed the 2021 Water and Wastewater Budget at last night's council meeting.
Homeowners will pay an additional $16.14 for water and wastewater this year.
The increase is smaller than in past year in order to keep costs low for residents struggling during the pandemic.
Even with the increase, water and wastewater rates in St. Catharines are the third lowest in the region.
Other items in the budget include $4.5 million for watermain replacements and $2.4 million for sanitary sewer replacement and pollution control projects.
The City has also devoted $6.9 million towards capital infrastructure replacements and investments.
