Victim stabbed in the hand
One person has been arrested after a stabbing in St. Catharines.
Around 9:51 p.m. on Saturday, police were called to a parking lot on Gale Crescent near Riordan Street.
Investigators say a 40 year old man was stabbed in the left hand after refusing to give another man change for a $20.00 bill.
The victim, who was sitting in his car at the time, was able to drive away and call 911.
He was taken to hospital, and is now recovering at home.
The suspect was found a short distance away.
Kevin Justin Bascus, 38, has been charged with assault with a weapon.
Police say the victim and the suspect knew each other.
A bail hearing took place yesterday, and Bascus has been remanded into custody.
