Man found with trauma related injuries following an assault in St. Catharines.
One person has been arrested in connection to a St. Catharines assault.
Investigators say police were called to a multi room residence near Lake and Queens Streets along 1:30 yesterday afternoon.
A man in his 40s was found to be suffering from trauma related injuries considered to be nonlife threatening.
Officers determined that a male suspect attended the property and got into an argument with the victim.
The altercation escalated, and the victim was repeatedly kicked while he lay on the sidewalk.
The victim's cell phone and wallet were stolen, and the suspect fled before police arrived.
Police attended a residence on Church Street near Frank Street in St. Catharines after receiving word that the suspect was there.
The suspect fled out of a window before being located by police.
Officers were able to contact the suspect, who agreed to surrender himself.
A search warrant on the Church Street property turned up evidence related to the assault and robbery.
Facing charges is 20 year old Patrick Ronnie Roy of St. Catharines.
