More than 6,000 people in St. Catharines participated in the Telephone Town Hall this year.
It was held last night and the city was looking for input for next year's budget.
In the end 43 percent said they don't want any service cuts.
On the other hand, 41 percent said they would be okay with some service cuts if it results in only a three percent tax increase.
About 34 percent said they would rather deal with significant service cuts if taxes only go up one percent.
The results also showed at 28 percent would be okay with cutting back the hours at local community centres and arenas.
