Area businesses and homeowners breathing sigh of relief, construction done earlier than expected
A huge sense of relief for business owners along St. Paul Street West in St. Catharines.
The Niagara region says the road is again open, now that construction of the CNR bridge is done a year ahead of schedule.
The bridge was replaced as part of the larger GO station work, which was part of four projects the Niagara region, CNR and the City of St. Catharines were sharing.
The Niagara region was leading the work due to its close relation to the St. Catharines Train station work into a multi-model transit hub.
