The mayors of St. Catharines and Lincoln making the calls recently
The State of Emergency declared in St. Catharines due to flooding has been called off.
Mayor Mat Siscoe releasing a statement that under the Emergency Management and Civil Protection Act the decision was made as immediate emergency conditions have stabilized, as the city moves from emergency response to recovery.
The city continues to work ensuring impacted homeowners are assisted, and advocating for federal and provincial help is on-going.
The city's deputy Chief Administrative Officer Erin O'Hoski says the response to the storms in July and August have required an extraordinary effort across the community and our organization.
The Mayor says there were roughly 10,000 homes impacted from the July and August floods.
The Town of Lincoln has also ended its State of Emergency.
