Elderly victim targeted
Niagara Regional Police are searching for a female suspect in connection with a fraud investigation.
Police say they were called to a home in the south end of Niagara Falls after an elderly resident received a phone call from someone claiming to be her grandson.
The male caller said he had been arrested by the RCMP and was in immediate need of financial help.
He instructed the senior to go to her bank and withdraw funds.
Shortly after she arrived back home, a female suspect went to her home to pick up the money.
Police say the elderly woman spoke to her grandson a while later and learned he had not been arrested.
Detectives are asking for help identifying the female suspect who is described as a black woman, 35 to 45 years of age with black hair in a bun and a tattoo on her left wrist.
She was last seen warning a white sleeveless blouse, black pants, black sandals and was carryng a beige purse
